Face 2 Face Distribution is a brand distribution service offering distribution of clients' brands directly to peri-urban and township retail outlets.

Using its extensive network of distribution vans nationwide, Face 2 Face manages the distribution of clients' brands into the heart of township markets, targeting traders at a large number of small retail outlets.

Face 2 Face Distribution makes use of a workforce from within the serviced community to assist in product distribution. This ensures an optimal service that is not hindered by language or cultural barriers.

Within the distribution strategy, Face 2 Face manages three processes

  • wholesale purchase
  • trader relationships, and
  • distribution of products and point of sale material
This offers clients the opportunity to create brand awareness in previously unreachable markets, primarily township consumers in rural, peri-urban and urban areas.

Operation

Face 2 Face Distribution operates within a "base universe" of over 11 100 retail outlets on a national level and comprises a cross section of:
  • Self-service stores
  • Counter-service stores
  • Spaza outlets
  • Superette stores
The Face 2 Face representatives carry out their distribution activities in accordance with the needs of each outlet and client-specific brand objectives.

Usage of Face 2 Face Distribution Service

Face 2 Face Distribution offers three types of services in their distribution strategy:
  • Syndicated Township Distribution

    The Face 2 Face Syndicated Township Distribution Service offers comprehensive area coverage that includes a total of 21 vehicles calling on over 8 400 different key trading outlets nationally. They target a combination of self service, counter service and spaza outlets and call on them fortnightly, monthly and every six weeks.


  • Syndicated Superette Distribution

    The Face 2 Face Syndicated Superette distribution strategy primarily targets independent superettes, convenience stores, general grocers and cafés. 15 vehicles operate nationally; over 2 700 stores are visited weekly / fortnightly.

    Both Syndicated Township and Syndicated Superette offer a numeric-based distribution service.


  • Dedicated Distribution

  • The Face 2 Face Dedicated Distribution Service offers clients a dedicated service which will create both numeric and volume based distribution in areas of their choice.

    This service comprises a dedicated van (that offers both numeric and volume-based distribution service) and also offers a driver that will act and dress as a brand ambassador for the brand.
